Today was the worst of days, a day we definitely weren’t expecting, at least not for a while. No one can you prepare you for this day, it was the worst of the worst and an extremely tough one.
It was the day we said our heartfelt goodbyes to our four-legged, best-friend, Logan. Logan was fifteen and a half, a large part of our life and the best companion you could ever ask for.
He was there for all those big moments, and the small ones too. He was there for college, our wedding, our babies (both two and three), greeting them when they came home from the hospital for the very first time and loved them unconditionally ever since. Logan travelled with us through all our moves, through the tough times and the best of times. He wasn’t just loved by us either, he was also loved by my dad. To say he cared for others is an underestimate, he really was the best, Logan’s life almost felt endless, but he definitely lived to the fullest.
Living through all our babies (which he stopped eating for a period after each one), he got punctured by a stick while jumping into water, and was my four-legged running buddy pushing me out the door for many, many miles. Logan was more than just a dog, he was our motivator, our best-friend, and the best dog we could have ever have asked for. He was our guardian and protector for anyone walking by (even if sometimes that was the postman, but the postman loved him too). Logan was our lover, our snuggler, and was as adventurous as they come, loved to be chased and loved to play fetch. Logan, you were amazing, we love and kiss you, but rest knowing you are feeling better, hopefully being walked and treated well up there.
